Visit from Latnaya, Russia
Pastor Dave introducing Pastor Galina Kolesnikova of the Revival Church in Latnaya, Russia, and Jerry Chapman of the Rural Chaplain's Association of the United Methodist Church, during worship at Faith Community Fellowship on October 5. Pastor Galina and Mr. Chapman spent time at Faith Community Fellowship during Pastor Galina's visit to the United States to report on the new church start's progress and present a plaque of appreciation to Faith Community Fellowship for being a sponsor of the church's ministry.
Latnaya is a town of 10,000 just outside the city of Voronezh, which is located about 320 miles southeast of Moscow on the Don River. With no other church in Latnaya, Revival is one of over 100 new church starts sponsored by the Russian Initiative of the United Methodist Church since the fall of Communism. Support for the project came from Faith Community Fellowship's tithe of its own expansion project, which has been designated by the congregational for new church starts throughout the world.
